HOW I CAN HELP YOU
I OFFER INDIVIDUAL AND COUPLES COUNSELLING FOR ADULTS
Hello and well done for reaching out and taking a major step towards improving your mental health and living the life you love!
Life is not always easy, in fact it can be complex and at times really difficult. Past pain and traumatic events can make you feel stuck, blocked and out of control, this can be very scary. You may be repeating old patterns, within or out of awareness. However, I believe all change is possible given the right environment and this is where I come in. My role as your counsellor is to provide you with a safe and supportive place, a sanctuary for you to express yourself in anyway you wish and be heard. This is often a unique and rewarding time. I offer a calm, caring, supportive and confidential environment, without judgement. I recognise that everyone is individual and as such I use different therapeutic strategies accordingly to meet your needs. I am passionate in working with you to create the change you desire and deserve, enabling you to live your life to the fullest.
I am a BACP Accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist and Supervisor. I have extensive experience as a counsellor both in private practice and in a multitude of areas including NHS - hospitals, GP surgeries, children's centres, Cruse, St Michael's Hospice, charitable organisations and EAP providers. I also work as a supervisor, supervising other counsellor's work with their clients. This experience coupled with my training and ongoing learning, I hope shows my strong passion for my work. I feel great value in helping to make people smile again and feel back on their path on life's journey, or indeed a new path.
I now work online by video call (Zoom and Skype) and telephone, no need to leave the comfort of your own home. I am just a 'click' away! This allows me to help people globally which I feel is much more inclusive.
I am enthusiastic about committed to continuous professional development (CPD) and learning with certification in a wide range of areas relating to all aspects of my therapeutic practice.
I attend my own monthly supervision and adhere to the BACP ethical framework. I hold a DBS certificate and have professional indemnity insurance.
All personal data is held in compliance with GDPR guidelines and I am registered with the ICO.
If you wish to contact me, I very much look forward to hearing from you. I offer a free initial assessment session. After that session's cost £60.00 for 50 minutes 1:1 and £70.00 for 60 minutes couples counselling.

HOW I CAN HELP YOU - SUPERVISION
Supervision to help advance your counselling practice
Thank you for visiting the supervision section of my profile. I am BACP (Accred), I have a BSc (Hons) in Psychology, PG-Dip in Supervision and Dip in Counselling. I have extensive experience as a Counsellor and Supervisor in a variety of settings from NHS hospitals and GP surgeries, Cruse, St Michael's Hospice, Schools, Charitable organisations, EAP providers and private practice.
Supervision is such an important part of a counsellor's practice. As a counsellor myself I value it enormously, as a safe place to offload, learn, feel supported and meet the BACP ethical requirements and these qualities I hold dear and hope to provide for my supervisee's. My goal as a supervisor is to inspire and encourage my supervisee's to be curious and really enjoy their work. To help them to be resilient, reflective, self-aware and professional, as they do a most rewarding job of seeking to help others.
My approach is integrative, mostly pulling from the Inskip & Proctor Model and Hawkins and Shohet's 7-eyed model.
My supervisee's range from students, counsellors working towards BACP Accreditation to very senior counsellors and supervisors.
We can meet for 1.5 hours monthly, or 1 hour bi-weekly.
I offer online supervision via Zoom or Skype, which I can be flexible in terms of days and times.
I charge £70.00 per hour and for 1.5 hours £100.00.
To contact me please phone me on: 07708 232450 or email me at jennymmilburn@gmail.com.
I offer a free initial chat, a bit like an assessment session for both of us and then if we feel that I am right for you I shall then book your first appointment.
I really look forward to hearing from you.
Thank you.
A BIT MORE ABOUT JENNY MILBURN
The Human being behind the Human doing!
Yes, it is important to choose a qualified professional to help you. However, I believe that it is just as important to choose a human being that you feel a connection with. You and your therapy journey are so important. Starting therapy is a big step and can be very daunting and I want to help you all I can with this, as this is a big part of your therapeutic journey.
I abide strongly by the ethical guidelines and boundaries to maintain a safe therapeutic environment for you. However, alongside this I recognise and love the modern world. It's presence is very visual and very strong online. So here I am posting a 'Selfie' of me on the beach just enjoying myself. I hope that this helps you to see a little of the 'me' alongside my qualifications and experience. That's important and you deserve this.
